Minutes
Attending: Michael Fiedler, Paul McMahan, Jing Qian, David Liu, Charles Rankin, Heather Fraser-Dube, Chad Holliday
- Specification issues and implementation reports - nothing new
- Automation V3 Scenarios
- Automation Plan Execution Environment
- agreement to change oslc_auto:hasExecutionEnvironment to oslc_auto:usesExecutionEnvironment
- cardinality will be zero-or-many
- add guidance on what a cardinality > 1 means. Example: build plan which runs on multiple build engines for native, java, packaging, etc.
- Automation Template Scenarios
- Clarification on what changes are being proposed.
- Change in core to allow providers to indicate whether they support pre-fill for a particular dialog
- Change in automation to add a new state to indicate the request should not be run yet (when persisted on the provider vs. just being saved by the consumer). Suggestions: oslc_auto:Blocked or oslc_auto:NotReady
- Need some additional discussion around scheduling scenarios. TODO: Umberto Caselli and Vaibhav Srivastava
- Automation Agent/Worker Scenarios
- Discussion on whether it is in scope. Some incremental progress in this area has occurred under Automation Plan Execution Environment
- Some ideas but no concrete proposals (apart from Eclipse Lyo automation consumer/agent) yet on issues such as registration, advertising agent capabilities, health checking, work distribution strategies, etc.
- Orchestration Scenarios
- Need more detailed scenarios
- Charles Rankin and Chad Holliday to work on this
- Areas to address:
- Chaining of automation outputs to inputs
- Flow topologies: parallelism, threading, merging/branching
- how to reference parameters in Automation Plans and Automation Results which are part of a larger workflow.
- relating inputs and outputs when execution is non-linear (not a straight chain of execution).
- Workgroup business
- No meeting on 1 August
- Next meeting 8 August
