Traceability Scenario to Capability Mapping

The table below gives an initial assessment of capabilities required to enable the traceability scenarios, together with the mapping between capabilities and scenarios.

This capability overlaps with the Quality Management domain.
Ability to create traceability graph resources   S1 S1 S1   S2 S3 S1,2 Need for additional 'traceability graph' resource, comprising a specific collection of artefacts (potentially of any type) and specific interconnecting links. Graphs may be defined by various combinations of: a. one or more 'starting artefacts'; b. one or more 'finishing artefacts'; c. one or more link types; d. link direction; e. number of traceability 'steps'; f. date of last modification
Ability to edit traceability graph resources by adding or removing artefacts and interconnecting links     S2,3     S3    

Note - this refers to the ability to edit the graph resource itself, not the ability to link a graph resource to another artefacts. This capability depends, in turn, on abilities to create, edit, delete, link and unlink different types of artefact (such as the abilities listed above).
Ability to associate traceability graph resources with other artefacts   PC PC PC   PC PC    

Table Legend

Column headings T1 to T8 refer to the eight scenarios, listed below. Step numbers in the table (S1, S2, etc) refer to the numbered steps in the associated scenario, while PC refers to the post conditions of these scenarios.
