Work on the Primer has been temporarily suspended due to discussions among the OSLC workgroup leaders to establish a common architecture for the specifications.
ArthurRyman is working on Query and Collections.
LawrencePutnamJr reviewed the progress on enumerating and defining the key metrics. He distinguished between core metrics and derived metrics. Core metrics are directly measureable, e.g. ESLOC or defect count. Derived metrics are computed from the core metrics, e.g. productivity.
LeeFischman suggested that we should classify defects according to the phase in which they were discovered, e.g. by developers during unit test, by quality assurance during Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), or by customers after delivery.
LawrencePutnamJr added as section on how QSM defines productivity. QSM uses both a productivity constant, which can take a wide range of values, and a productivity index, PI, which takes on a smaller range and is more easily understood. Galorath has a way of defining productivity.
LeeFischman should provide the definition.
[ACTION] LeeFischman to define how Galorath defines productivity metrics in the Software Metrics Definitions page. DONE 2009-12-03
LawrencePutnamJr has been putting the consolidated information on the QSM Metrics page. This should be moved to a common page.
[ACTION] ArthurRyman to move the page and notify the workgroup. DONE 2009-12-03.
