Architecture Management Discussion Points

Describe a minimal set of key scenarios, with clear business goals, to guide the process.
For example:
  • Analyze and implement system functionality defined by a requirements set
  • Implement business process model
  • Track and fix a defect in a build
  • Impact Analysis
  • Generate artifacts (runtime or intermediary) from models (ala MDD/MDA)
Document the key artifacts and resources that are managed in AM, include uses and connections to other resources both within and without of the AM space.
For example:
  • Business Process Models (BPMN)
  • Analysis / Design Models (UML)
  • Deployment Models
  • Logical/Physical Data Models (ER)
  • Requirements Models (UML Use Cases)
  • Source Code, deployment descriptors, etc.
Gain a consensus of understanding of the essential properties of models and other AM artifacts in the lifecycle.
For example
  • Does a model element have to exist in a particular hierarchy for its information to be understood (i.e. UML Class and applied profiles)?
  • A simplified logical view of a generic model and model element:

Draft specifications for use in ALM.
For example:
  • RESTful resource access (get contents of model resource)
  • model resource meta-information (version, links, labels, type, ownership hierarchy)
  • find/create model links to ALM resources
  • support querying, including cross resource queries.
