Hello OSLC Steering Committee members,
I just wanted to let you know I've created wiki pages for our May [1] and
June [2] meetings, and have inserted draft agendas in both.
Bola, please note that I have you on the agenda to discuss AR & PR plans in
conjunction with the formation of the OASIS OSLC Member Section.
All, as it stands now, I have proposed that the May 8 meeting be the final
meeting of the "bootstrapping" OSLC StC (even though we hope that the OASIS
Board will have approved the OSLC Member Section by then).
Although it is a little late, I would also like to congratulate you all on
having completed your tenth meeting as the OSLC Steering Committee earlier
this week!
I will send doodles to find times for meetings in the 3Q2013 after the May
8 meeting (at the May 8 meeting, I'd like to find out which *weeks* may
work for everyone).
I would also like to let you know that the OSLC Steering Committee panel is
on the Innovate agenda for Tuesday, June 4 from 1:45 - 2:45 PM. Currently,
I only have Rainer and John listed as speakers. Please let me know if you
have a speaker profile already, or provide the details for me to create one
for you.
Here are some more session details:
Title: Common Problems and Solutions for Integrated ALM with OSLC: Steering
Committee Panel
Abstract: The "integration problem" is one faced by all businesses and is
often solved in an unsatisfactory way. Tight coupling can make changes
difficult, and multiple copies of data can slow down workflows, increase
storage requirements, and worse. Problem determination and resolution in
such systems can be costly. Through open services for lifecycle
collaboration (OSLC), industry experts have gathered for public discussion
of common problems and solutions, and have published open specifications to
make integrations easier and more robust and expose more lifecycle data so
that it can be used effectively. Join members of the OSLC steering
committee for an insightful discussion covering the common problems faced
by software teams, the solutions available to those teams today, and a look
ahead to what stubborn problems are the next to be tackled.
Finally, as mentioned in our meeting this week [3], we're working on an
event around open standards and OSLC for Sunday, June 2. It is being
planned for 3:30 - 6 PM, and I hope you will all be able to make it. Once I
have the details more firmly in hand, I will share them with you.
