I updated the CALM scenarios (A & B) based on feedback provided during our
telecon last week.
http://open-services.net/bin/view/Main/QmScenarios
Here is a summary of the changes that I made:
- Added clarification about where boundaries between tools are crossed
- Corrected terminology such as "requirement collection"
- Provided more explicit language around creating and searching test plan
and test case resources
Based on our current milestones we are already a little behind on
finalizing the scenarios which scope the QM 1.0 specifications. Please
review and provide any feedback you might have via email or in the wiki by
Wednesday, Sept 2. This will allow us to focus on the draft specification
during our next bi-weekly telecon.
We had some good discussion about scenario C and how that it is highly
related to process and workflow. I think that we need more time to develop
this scenario, and that we should do so with a mindset that takes other
OSLC topic areas such as Change Management into account. Therefore I
propose that we defer scenario C from the QM 1.0 specification so that we
have more time to develop it. If you disagree or have concerns with
deferring it then please reply to this email or contact me directly.
Also, there were some good suggestions about new scenarios we could add
that are focused on:
- Querying resources
- Versioning resources
- Reporting
While these scenarios are definitely interesting and relevant to QM, I
propose that we also defer them from the QM 1.0 specification due to lack
of time. But if there is sufficient interest from the workgroup then I can
look for a volunteer to help work on them.
And finally, thanks to Scott we have a new OSLC mailing list specifically
for QM discussion - oslc-qm at open-services.net. I addressed the email you
are reading now to the new mailing list. I also bcc'd everyone's personal
email address, so you may see two copies of this email. If you only see
one copy of this email then you may want to visit the subscription
management page:
http://open-services.net/mailman/listinfo/oslc-qm_open-services.net
In the future I will only send these types of emails to the QM mailing list
and will not bcc everyone's personal address. I will continue to send
announcements, meeting agendas, and minutes to the main OSLC mailing list
and will cc the QM mailing list.
Best wishes,
Paul McMahan
