[Oslc-communications] open-services.net (and OSLC logo?) publicredesign

Personally I believe that our OSLC User Group for Communications has
achieve its initially set objectives.

Under the new structure, I don't see it to actively contribute in terms
of making any decisions related to official dissemination and
exploitation activities of the OSLC.

I agree though that we can keep the communication line open for non
OASIS member to bring in ideas and feedback into the group.

Therefore, if all partners of this working group agree I'd suggest to
close the WG in its traditional structure - since we have reached all
our objectives I'd suggest a thanks message to everybody in the
community.

Hi Parham,

Good to hear from you :-)

What happens to the OSLC User Group for Communications is a good
question, and I think it depends on whether we want contributions from
non-OASIS members, or if we think some closer association with the OSLC
Member Section (perhaps as a Subcommittee - which would have to be
chaired by someone from the Steering Committee) has benefits that offset
limiting our pool of potential participants.

For the present, until there is a well-defined need/case for moving this
effort to OASIS, I think we should stay at open-services.net as a User
Group.

What do you think?
Does anyone else have thoughts?

Best regards,

Hi Sean,

Thanks for the update.

Sean I think one of my previous emails wasn't delivered, but it would be
very useful to understand the position of the OSLC-Communications WG and
the effort of the OASIS OSLC community with regard to dissemination and
exploitation. Does it make sense to rebuild our group under the OASIS?

As was posted on the OSLC blog last Friday [1], there is an effort
underway to update the the open-services.net website, and your
participation is welcome and appreciated.

Take a look at the reasons why a redesign is being considered [2], and
why it's being done in public [3].

Those of you with experience in web and mobile design should be able to
contribute in many areas [4] [5].

The can-of-worms that is a potential logo redesign has also been opened
[6], and probably everyone can have an opinion there. (I've already
given some of my thoughts [7]).

I'm sure we'll end up with a better looking and more usable
open-services.net, and I hope you'll find it interesting to follow along
and share your thoughts.
