Hi Jane and Sean,

Thanks for the effort, this was very important.

With regard to some of the action items:

I’ve already allocated somebody from my team to present OSLC at the EclipseCon France as they did last year. Just met the organizer today at another project meeting and the proposal has been accepted of course ;)

With regard to the EclipseCon Europe, I’ll take this action on board and try to allocate some time to present it myself.

OSLC Connect 2013: Together with your feedback and discussions I had with lots of people individually I trust we have now the way forward when looking at our OSLC event for 2013.

I try to summarize key decisions which we need to develop further and communicate to the StC as well:

-          For our very first conference we will organize a one day event rather than two – focus our effort to deliver a high quality event!

-          We will organize a stand-alone event

-          Date: Sept./Oct. 2013

-          Location: UK (preferable London) – Back-up Options: Brussels, Munich

-          Fees for the event between 100€ – 200€ seems to be realistic

Hi All,

We had a really good meeting with Ralph Mueller of Eclipse about including an OSLC conference with EclipseCons.

Jane took excellent notes (see below), but I'll provide a quick summary based on my understanding:
* there is a lot of interest in OSLC and it would be a great addition to EclipseCon
* the best fit is with the Toulouse event
* we're too late to integrate with any EclipseCon events planned for 2013
* a pre/post conference billing with EclipseCon Toulouse in 2014 would be very good
* for Fall 2013, we should explore doing something like the ALM day scheduled for May 27 in Berlin
* perhaps the same folks would help support and organize that effort

Please respond with your thoughts.

Also, the OSLC Steering Committee is meeting on May 8 at 1 PM EDT. We're on the agenda to give an update on the plans. 
I suggest we take the opportunity to get the StC's direction on the options we have for the Fall, especially about cooperating with Eclipse, or not.

Expecting 60 in attendance 
Preferred length – two days; one track

Options discussed – EclipseCon Europe: 

·         Integrating the OSLC Conference into the EclipseCon agenda (adding a track over two days) 
·         Co-locating the OSLC Conference with EclipseCon – starting on the day before EclipseCon begins (28 Oct) and overlapping the OSLC second day with the EclipseCon first day 
(The EclipseCon program already includes six tracks – there is a fear that adding more content will dilute our efforts either way.)
·         The EclipseCon program dates/locations have been officially announced, so there is no flexibility in shifting to accommodate anything new at this stage
·         The EclipseCon program is currently under development; An OSLC presentation proposal would be welcomed
·         Arranging a marketing barter between OASIS & EclipseCon would be considered -- online visibility, email announcements to members, etc…
·         EclipseCon will consider providing OASIS/OSLC a complimentary booth space during the event

Options discussed – EclipseCon France 2013: 

·         An OSLC representative should consider attending to gather information about the event; organizers will work with the representative on registration options
·         Arranging a marketing barter between OASIS & EclipseCon would be considered – online visibility, email announcements to members, etc…

Options discussed - EclipseCon France 2014: 

·         Next year’s event is scheduled to take place again in Toulouse, France -- in early June
·         OSLC topic and EclipseCon France audience are more in-line than the other EclipseCon events
·         Scheduling a collaboration for next June will allow more than enough time to co-organize events properly
·         Arranging a marketing barter between OASIS & EclipseCon would be considered -- online visibility, email announcements to members, etc…

Options discussed – Eclipse IDD (ALM Day): 

·         If fall is something OSLC is very much interested in – there is a possibility of approaching the organizers of the Eclipse IDD (Fraunhofer Fokus) with a partnership proposal (OSLC & ALM)
·         Eclipse IDD (ALM Days) is usually hosted by Fraunhofer Fokus – next one is scheduled for Berlin Germany – 27 May (http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_IDD_2013)
·         Fraunhofer has several venue options in Germany
·         An OSLC presentation proposal at the next Eclipse IDD is still an option for OSLC to consider 

Action items for OSLC/OASIS planning committee:

·         Discuss the notes from the call with committee members
·         Consider submitting OSLC proposals to the planning committees of Eclipse IDD & EclipseCon Europe
·         Identify an OSLC representative that might be able to attend EclipseCon France (on behalf of the group)
·         Evaluate sending an representative to promote OSLC at EclipseCon Europe, if a complimentary booth space becomes available

Action items for EclipseCon planning committee:

·         Discuss the notes from the call with the various committee members
·         Arrange an introduction between OASIS & EclipseCon to evaluate marketing barters for the various upcoming events 
·         Notify OSLC/OASIS of any proposal submission deadlines and/or requirements for EclipseCon Europe
·         Confirm the availability of a booth space at EclipseCon Europe
·         Introduce OSLC/OASIS to the organizers of the Eclipse IDD (ALM Day) 
·         Discuss internally and schedule the next steps in OSLC & EclipseCon France collaboration effort (June 2014)
